A gallery that strays off from the beaten track and, whilst fully living up to its name, becomes moreover a forum where designers and artists can meet, where one is as proud of the objects displayed as the surroundings which show them off to their best advantage. Before going any further, a few words on the boundaries that define the nature of such a place.
The gallery is to be found in the heart of Budapest on a street named Petöfi Sàndor, with a surface area of more than 200m2 spread over two floors. The premises are discreetly elegant – the interior architecture is the work of Veronica Szabo – ensuring that the pieces of furniture and all the other various objects are seen at their best for every occasion. Only natural materials are used, with the accent on waxed wood and aluminium. Two enormous bay-windows afford an excellent view, for browsers and potential clients alike, over the vast displays and sales area.On offer is the whole palette of contemporary creativity, covering the world of interior design. Practicality and ease of manufacture are given top-priority, naturally corresponding to the hopes and needs of a mostly young clientele.
It has been a deliberate choice to dedicate the most space to those new and not-so-new artists and designers of Hungarian origin; by helping them to become more known and appreciated so that, above all, they are not overlooked in their own country.
Our goal is to draw the public’s attention to freshness of design and quality of workmanship and to naturally promote their entry into the modern home. The artists we work with have already proven their worth during their training by winning numerous scholarships and competitions abroad, prior to embarking on their professional life here. All of which not only guarantees their talent but also brings to bear the most up-to-date skills, immediately recognisable in the fruit of their labours.
